National Reading Day (VI-XII)
National Reading Day is celebrated every year on 19th June to honour the legacy of the late P.N. Panicker, the father of the Library Movement. The Board is planning to attempt the Guinness World Record for “the most children reading at one time” on 19 June 2024. In celebration of the same, the students of Classes VI- XII engaged themselves with diverse reading materials, such as stories, articles, and essays, enhancing their comprehension and analytical abilities. The activity also involved summarizing texts, answering comprehension questions, and participating in discussions.
The activity positively impacted students' reading habits, engagement, and language skills, fostering a culture of reading and supporting cognitive development.
