Assembly : National Girl Child Day
The National Girl Child Day is celebrated in India every year on 24 January. The Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, initiated this celebration in 2008. Class VII-B conducted a special assembly to commemorate this day on 27 January 2025. The event aimed to create awareness about rights, challenges and opportunities for the girl child in our society. Students participated with great enthusiasm and commitment. Through a short skit, students depicted the contrast in the lives of women in pre-Independence India and modern India, showcasing the achievements of Flight Lieutenant Gunjan Saxena, who made history as India's first female combat pilot in the Kargil War, and Arunima Sinha, an Indian mountaineer and sportswoman who became India’s first and the world's second female amputee to scale Mount Everest. They also highlighted the efforts of notable social reformers in bringing change to society. A dance performance fostered a deeper appreciation of the contributions of the girl child. The event successfully instilled a sense of responsibility and awareness among the students, making it a memorable and impactful National Girl Child Day celebration.
